This is a real proposal we shot at a mirador near Paraíso, on the Barahona–Pedernales coastal route. We worked in ninja mode — a drone in the air and a photographer hidden on the ground — so the couple had no idea any of it was happening until the question came.

As a marriage proposal and engagement photographer, we work in ninja mode: hidden before the couple even arrives, covering the moment with a ground photographer using a long-range telephoto lens and, where the location allows it, a drone in the air — so neither of them realizes they’re being photographed until after the question’s been asked.

We cover surprise proposals across the entire Dominican Republic: miradores like the one in Paraíso on the Barahona–Pedernales route, beaches, rooftops, restaurants, resorts, or wherever you’re planning on popping the question. Every proposal is different, so we work out the exact logistics with you beforehand — timing, angle, the signal for us to move in.
